Ballooning in Napa
For the calmest air, balloons leave just after sunrise
Watching the balloon fill was really interesting
In the air, the ride was completely smooth (you move with the wind, so you don't feel any breeze)
We dipped down for a close look
A silhouette to prove we were really there
The landing wasn't too bad (though it's definitely the "hardest" part)
There was still plenty to do after the balloon was on the ground
The air escapes through a vent at the top of the balloon
The balloon crew deflated and packed the balloon while we enjoyed the field where we landed
Alan and I explored the edges of the field (tracking down a mysterious bird)
After breakfast, we visited a winery before returning to our normal life
The winery wasn't busy (in March, not much is happening), but the tour was interesting anyway
