These ringneck squabs are 2 days old. Note the yellow down on the left, 539H and white down on the right, 539G.

These ringneck hatchlings show a normal bill ring on the dark squab at the bottom and a thin bill ring at the top on the blond squab. The normal bill ring is approximately 1mm wide; and the thin bill ring is approximately one half millimeter wide. Note the wild type tan colored down; the blond squab's down is dilute tan.
